Texcene was established in 1981 under the name of Tintoria Nazionale
within Pezzoli Group, that has operated in the textile business since the 1950s.
Texcene relies on over 40 years of experience in delivering
high quality solutions for bleaching, dyeing and textile finishing.
In our 20,000 square meters plant we implemented all our textile finishing processes in parallel, using machinery available only for a limited number of top players in the European textile industry.
We renew our commitment towards the environment and the well-being of people day after day, integrating technologies for energy generation from renewable sources with energy-efficient systems in the form of a 450 kW hydropower plant and a 990 kW photovoltaic solar system for a total combined annual electricity generation capacity of around 8 million kWh. Our energy consumption is reduced thanks to the use of heat recovery units, while the environmental impact of our textile finishing processes is limited by our fume scrubbers and treatment plants.

The ZDHC Foundation is a multi-stakeholder initiative with a Committed Community of more than 250 organisations spanning across the global fashion industry.
ZDHC’s Roadmap to Zero Programme proposes a radical way of implementing sustainable chemical management across the entire fashion value chain, by helping all the parts of the chain work together.
While Texcene has not formally joined the Roadmap to Zero Programme, we are registered on the ZDHC Gateway and have purchased a Wastewater Licence this year to report on our wastewater as we seek to implement sustainable chemical management best practices with the help of ZDHC Guidelines, Platforms and Solutions to reduce our environmental impact within the textile industry.
The Class I OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certification states that all Texcene finished fabrics comply with comply with human health and environmental requirements and do not cause irritation of the skin, including on baby sensitive skin.
The GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) Certification shows that Texcene employs a minimum of 70% organic fibers in its textile finishing processes.
The Detox Certification confirms Texcene commitment to eliminate all hazardous and polluting chemicals from its manufacturing processes.
